Narva College holds XV International Students’ Scientific Conference
On April 23-25, 2015, Narva College of the University of Tartu is holding the annual International Students’ Scientific Conference PPCY 2015. With its fifteen years of tradition, PPCY is one of the longest standing student conferences in Estonia. The conference gathers students from the fields of philology, pedagogy, public sector, entrepreneruship and youth work, from Bachelor’s to Doctoral level.
43 students from Estonia, Russia, Sweden and China are coming to Narva to participate PPCY 2015. Largest number of participants are from Russian universities, which has been during the years the unique characteristic of PPCY conferences. Narva College of the University of Tartu is in this year’s conference represented by seven students.
The focus fields of the PPCY conference – philology, pedagogy, public sector, yout work and entrepreneurship – match the the curricula of Narva College. Originally, the conference was initiated to provide the students of Narva College with an opportunity of a conference experience. Although the conference has grown during the years, the focus fields have remained the same.
The conference participants are selected based on their submitted abstracts. The abstracts are reviewed by the lecturers of Narva College and the final selection is made in early February. All the selected abstracts are also published in the conference abstract book.
During the two main conference days, April 23 and 24, there are two plenary sessions and altogether ten parallel sessions of which six are about philological, two about pedagogical and two about public sector, entrepreneurship and youth work related topics.
PPCY 2015 is supported by Estonian Gambling Tax Council and Narva College.
